The City of Friendsville Public Works department is responsible for maintaining the public streets within the city limits of Friendsville.
From major street repair projects to minor debris clean-up in the aftermath of wind storms, Friendsville public works crew keeps roadways clear and passable for motorists. During the spring, summer and fall, the public works department also conducts all right-of-way mowing on state and city roads through town.
In addition to ROW mowing, a major component of the public works department duties is keeping roads passable during the winter months. In the aftermath of winter storms, street crews are dispatched with plows, salt and gravel chips to work all streets within the city, often beginning to clear the roads before the snow has even stopped falling.
